New Harley-Davidson Reveal
Harley-Davidson is planning a world premiere on the 26th of this month. The manufacture has yet to release any information on what will be revealed. The site only gives us a teaser of a Harley tank, and the words “Further, Faster.”
The legacy manufacturer has been on a roll with new bikes since the Pan America and the Sportster S. We can only hope that the trend will continue with more modern bikes that appeal to a younger audience.
The Revolution Max 1250 engine in both the Sportster S and Pan Am alone is a huge step forwards. The inclusion of dual overhead cams with variable valve timing, water cooling and individual throttle bodies shows that they mean business. The new Sportster and Pan America are leaps forward in design as well.
The bikes are unique and modern without losing their ties to Harley’s ever important heritage. If these same changes make their way into the Harley-Davidson lineup as a whole, we’ll be over the moon. Even the bagger market has room to move forwards from pushrods and chrome.
The King Of The Baggers racing series, in which Harley participates, has drawn a completely new form of attention to the class. To see some big factory hot rods like that would be pretty cool. We hope Harley keeps taking risks like the Pan Am and the LiveWire, even if they don’t pan out. Exiting the comfort zone may be the step necessary to save the brand.
