Honda Monkey: Stock VS Modified (Video)

Meet the "Super" Monkey.

Alex Buys A Honda Monkey

Almost a year ago, Tommy introduced us to his first motorcycle, a sweet, red Honda Monkey. Since that time, the Monkey has proven to be the perfect learner bike.

Its small size and smaller price tag ($4,199) make it approachable for anyone. Even better, Honda miniMOTO bikes in general have proven to be a blast straight out of the box.

So what could be more fun than a brand new Monkey? Well, Alex managed to find a cammed and flashed ’21 Honda Monkey with over $3,500 in mods. Even better, he bought it for a cool $3,400.

The “Super” Monkey

Somebody threw thousands at this Monkey, barely rode it, and took a big loss when they sold it. Sad for them, but a great opportunity for Alex to pick up on. Now dubbed the “Super” Monkey, this shockingly cool miniMOTO is an office-wide favorite.

And just gander at this abbreviated list of modifications.

Honda Monkey Drag Race

Stock VS Modified

A part list as that long earns the title “Super.” Since we now have both a standard Monkey and a Super, we did what any reasonable person would do. If you want to see the results of the drag race, be sure to check out the video linked above.

To the Super Monkey’s credit, its aftermarket parts do improve the riding dynamics. Though the seat is not the most comfortable, the shifter more than makes up for it. The clutch kit, shifter brace and forged lever make for a much crisper shifter feel.

The Yoshi exhaust and mid-length intake also provide a welcome rumble that is not overbearing. Overall, the Super Monkey stands out from the stock unit and turns heads like no other. Whether that is worth almost doubling the cost of the bike to do yourself is up to you. What a steal for $3,400 though.
