Everyone who knows electric motorcycles knows of the $29,799 Harley-Davidson LiveWire. The existing LiveWire motorcycle launched in 2019 and boasts serious performance with surprising build quality. However, LiveWire is only just getting started.
This morning, Harley-Davidson announced that LiveWire is now its own all-electric motorcycle brand. The manufacturer claims that the new brand “plans to redefine electric, delivering the best experience for the urban rider.”
So far they have a landing page, but only with limited information. LiveWire will reveal their first new motorcycle on July 8th, 2021. The bike will premiere at the International Motorcycle Show in Irvine, CA on July 9th.
Harley states that the new brand has “an initial focus on the urban market,” using both existing Harley-Davidson Dealerships as well as dedicated showrooms to sell their new fleet of electric motorcycles.
Harley-Davidson also recently released an independent brand of electric bicycles called Serial 1. The most affordable Serial 1 bicycle on sale starts at a premium $3,399. As both brands continue to grow, we hope that more affordable models will come along.
