For 2022, the Triumph Street Scrambler gets an update to meet Euro 5 emissions, along with an updated look and a new limited edition model.
The list of bikes updated to meet Euro 5 emissions standards grows longer (we already saw the Bonneville and Scrambler 1200 lineups receive updates earlier this year). The 900cc parallel twin is tweaked to produce lower emissions without compromising performance. The Street Scrambler still makes 64hp and 59ft-lbs of torque, and still has that distinct Triumph British twin sound.
The Street Scrambler received a major overhaul for the 2019 model year. It’s no surprise that the changes here are minimal. Nevertheless Triumph fitted the new model with more premium details. For 2022, there’s a new side panel with an aluminum number board, and a new heel guard. Also fitted are brushed aluminum headlight brackets and new throttle body finishers. The seat now gets wrapped in a new, more adventure-oriented material. There’s new paint schemes to choose from, including Jet Black, Urban Grey, or a twin color Matte Khaki and Matte Ironstone.
The limited-availability Sandstorm Edition is styled to celebrate Scrambler rides through the California desert and Baja Peninsula. It features a tri-color painted tank, high-mount front mudguard, aluminum sump-guard, mesh headlight grille, and rubber tank pads. Triumph’s rear tail tidy with an LED taillight and license plate light also come standard. Only 775 Sandstorm Edition Street Scramblers will be built worldwide, and each comes with a personalized certificate of authenticity. Of course, the Sandstorm also receives all the same emissions and styling updates as the standard Street Scrambler.
