Triumph has upped the ante in the naked bike world with the launch of their most powerful Speed Triple to date. The 2021 machine is aiming squarely at some of the hottest naked machines from European competitors like Ducati. Engineers have completely redesigned the one-liter motor using all-new components and shortened the stroke to create a much punchier feel and considerably higher revving power plant.

This engineering wizardry learned largely from Moto 2 racing development results in a whopping 29.5 horsepower increase with peak power now 177.5bhp around 10,750rpm. Torque too rises to 92 lb/ft at 9000rpm, helping to deliver a much broader midrange.

Triple On A Diet

Add to this recipe a new chassis, which is some 22 pounds lighter – which the maker says helps make this ‘the best handling Speed Triple to date’.  This new diet has contributed to a 26% increase in the power-to-weight ratio.

The Triple’s wheelbase remains unchanged, although with the new gearbox, Triumph have elongated the swingarm, to enhance handling.

Other features on the 1200 RS include Öhlins suspension, Brembo brakes, sticky Metzeler tires and numerous electronics aids. Standard Gizmos and gadgets include cruise control, backlit switches and phone pairing as standard. This is also the first completely keyless Triumph motorcycle.

Pricing starts at $18,300 for this beast!
