New KTM 890 Adventure models are almost here

For those wanting to get dusty and dirty exploring the backcountry, the good news is that KTMs latest adventure-touring machines will reach our shores this November. The KTM 890 Adventure, Adventure R and 890 Adventure R Rally supersede the popular 790 Adventure, which first debuted in 2019.

While KTM will make the 890 Adventure and Adventure R more widely available, the 2021 Adventure R Rally will be a limited edition. In all, the manufacturer plans only 700 units for production. KTM will sell 200 of those units in the US.

The ‘R Rally’ model boasts Dakar-winning DNA, including a WP Pro Components suspension. The setup is on par with that found on the works KTM 450 RALLY machine. The R Rally also sports a unique color scheme and a host of race-derived parts.  Also new to all three models is a ride-by-wire throttle system instead of the conventional throttle cable.

A new 889cc parallel twin powers these three 2021 machines. According to KTM, the engine delivers greater power and torque, improved fuel mileage, and nice long 9,300-mile service intervals.

The new KTM 890 Adventure models are available in the US this November. The base model Adventure is said to be priced around $13,000, Adventure R model closer to $15K while the limited Adventure R Rally model nudges close to the $20,000 mark.
